In the wake of life’s tragedies such as terrorist attacks and natural disasters, one of the things that stands out for me the most is seeing the kindness people of the general public show one another in the face of adversity. Often in this day and age people are wrapped up I their own lives they forget to take time to think of others and in the age of social media we now have trolls all over the Internet causing hurt and unkindness in a place where they can be cowardly and faceless. IMG_4612

These attacks are often brought on by jealousy and envy of wanting what others have instead of concentrating on their own lives but these feelings harden your heart and just makes your unhappiness more and more deep rooted.
Being kind and considerate is about taking a little time to think how others might be feeling, showing empathy to their situation and how your behaviour towards them can make a positive impact.

To put kindness in to practice you must consider a few points:

💫Anticipate what others might need
💫Be considerate of others in public
💫Listen to friends problems without relating everything to yourself, no one likes to        hear ‘yes when that happened to me’ when they’re pouring their heart out
💫Don’t worry about what to say to someone who is experiencing hard times, never avoid them because you don’t know what to say. Real friends don’t always need words they just need to know you’re there for them
💫Don’t monopolise every day conversations, ask others how they’re feeling and how their families are too etc
💫Spare a little thought of people who are lonely or unwell
💫Small thoughtful gifts or cards can mean the world to someone from time to time.

💫Likewise taking a cooked meal or a home baked cake for someone who has been unwell or just had a baby is always greatly appreciated and shows you’ve thought about them.
💫Be punctual and don’t cancel on people unless it is extremely urgent. Being respectful of other peoples time is imperative, one of the most inconsiderate things you can do is act like your time is more important than theirs. Likewise, cancelling on someone at the last minute shows no thought for them and what they have had to organise to meet up with you. Good friends never let other friends down.

Two quotes come to mind, the first from the Disney film ‘Cinderella’
‘Have Courage & Be Kind’

The second was The Dalai Lama, when asked for his philosophy of life, he just said simply ‘Be kind whenever possible, it is always possible’ Share this!
