It’s a Sunday evening in October, the weather has started to cool and I’m sat with my gorgeous family, candles lit, feeling cosy & watching the Strictly results. I’m feeling extremely relaxed after spending a gorgeous day at Ribby Hall Spa in Preston, so all in all it’s been a pretty good Sunday.

For my sister-in-law Kate’s last birthday I booked for us to spend a day at this spa as I’d had it recommended. I thought it would be lovely for us to have a relaxing spa day which we both love and an uninterrupted day for just the two of us to have a good catch up. We’ve waitedIMG_4622 quite a while for this day as she’s been breast feeding and I’ve been crazy busy at work, so a Sunday in mid October was booked for us to look forward to.

After not the easiest of journeys driving from Huddersfield to Preston through bad winds and torrential rain, I eventually arrived as the sun came out & I met Kate in the lovely reception of the spa. As soon as I walk into any spa and smell the aromatherapy candles and products I immediately go into my ‘zen place’. We were greeted by delightful staff members who showed us to the restaurant for lunch. We were met there by equally attentive staff and I have to say the customer service from every staff member was excellent.

After a delicious lunch and a glass of Prosecco in the restaurant we were then taken to the changing facilities and given our robes and towels ready for our Aqua Thermal Journey.

The spa itself is light and airy and a gorgeous temperature throughout. The atmospheric lighting gives the place a lovely luxurious feel and luckily for us it wasn’t over busy. There’s a good choice of steam rooms and saunas to choose from and the hydrotherapy pool which is central to the spa was heavenly. We were glad the bad weather cleared up and the sun even came out as the outdoor area is lovely with a choice of jacuzzis and hot tubs along with an outdoor bar which made us feel like we were on holiday!

We didn’t book any extra treatments on this occasion but there is a full treatment menu to choose from and the spa uses two of my favourite product ranges, Elemis & Neom. IMG_8816

The changing facilities were quite spacious with lovely showers. There is Elemis shower gel, shampoo and conditioner in every shower and GHD hair dryers and straighteners in the changing area. It is clinically clean throughout with staff constantly at hand to keep towels and robes replenished and the changing facilities tidy.

It was a lovely day in an excellent spa and I would highly recommend it to anyone.

Our lunch and half day use of the spa facilities package was priced at £62 per person

Other packages are available with full days starting at £129 per person which includes a full day use of the facilities, lunch or afternoon tea plus a 60 minute treatment.
