Gosh, I’ve been so busy recently that its almost the middle of May and I’ve not posted a blog post in ages! Work will hopefully be getting a little calmer soon so I can get back to blogging more regularly.

Sadly Easter is over for another year and what a lovely time it’s been. Lots of quality time with family and friends plus a mum and daughter trip to London for Isabelle and me. A week off work worked wonders and allowed me some much needed time to recharge my batteries. I’ve now got a busy month ahead starting with a production of ‘Cats’ the musical that I’ve choreographed so it’s back to it with a vengeance.

  7. I booked in with a Personal Trainer to get myself back into shape for the summer

Devour at the Dyehouse Restaurant – Holme Valley, West Yorkshire

I’ve just had the pleasure of meeting a lovely friend for lunch at the newly opened Devour restaurant. Nestled in the picturesque and historic Holme Valley and only a short distance from Holmfirth, this delightful new restaurant is a must for foodies in the area. Specialising in authentic Italian cuisine the menu offers a wonderful selection of freshly made pasta & pizza, antipasti and sharing platters along with delicious meat and seafood dishes. With plenty of choice for vegetarians and vegans, this restaurant offers it all, along with boasting homemade Italian ice cream and a deli counter. A cocktail bar takes it from daytime to evening with a large selection of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks.

I chose a seafood pasta dish which was absolutely delicious. The meals are plentiful with some wonderfully tasting side dishes to accompany. I particularly recommend the garlic and rosemary roast potatoes.

The atmosphere was relaxed and warm with a very attentive staff. I would recommend booking a table first as even on a Thursday lunchtime it got busy very quickly. Parking was plentiful and the outdoor area is already being developed for the warmer months.

With modern decor and delicious cuisine, Devour is a lovely addition to The Holme Valley and I will certainly be going back.

Elemis Biotec Skin Resurfacer Facial at Koko Beauty Spa – Huddersfield

My skin has felt s bit sluggish lately and I’ve had a few breakouts which is unusual for me so I booked myself in for a facial at my beauty salon. As I wanted something a bit more than a relaxing facial, Kimberley the owner recommended the Biotech skin Resurfacer for my skin type. IMG_7904

This is a revolutionary clinically proven facial that addresses skin tone, blemishes and fine lines to transform the texture of the skin. The ultrasonic peel, massage and light therapy deliver a complexion that has never been smoother.

The treatment was an amazing 90 minutes and I was in heaven. This was the best of both worlds as I was getting as much out of a facial as I possibly could whilst still getting the scalp, back, neck, shoulder and arm massages which I love.

My skin felt amazing immediately afterwards and seemed to glow. Over the next few days I had quite a bad breakout on my chin which seemed to be the impurities coming out. Once they had cleared in a few days my skin felt really fresh & hydrated and not as dull looking as it had been. I’m going to have one of these facials every month as it’s the long term that will show the most benefits and I’ve already booked in for next month.

The facial costs £65 for 60 minutes & £72 for 90 minutes.

Raspberry, Peach, Champagne Cocktail

Peach vodka, raspberry syrup, and some fine bubbly are blended to create this dazzling drink. If you don’t have peach vodka at your disposal, no worries — use regular ol’ vodka with some peach juice.

Wonder park

There wasn’t much on at the cinema that my two were interested in seeing but then Max heard that two of his favourite Youtubers, Jo Sugg & Casper Lee, were voicing two of the characters he decided he’d like to see it.

To be honest it was a bit young for my two but it was quite a sweet film. Telling the story of June who was blessed with a fabulous imagination and created an amazing theme park called Wonderland which comes to life. It was a pleasant couple of hours and a very easy watching film but nothing that will go down in history. I’ve seen worse kids films but I’ve seen much much  better!

Lighter evenings!

Feeling burnt out from working 7 days a week for the past 4 months.

  1. Cadburys cream eggs & Hot Cross Buns-  I’ve limited myself this year but couldn’t resist a couple over Easter
  2. Daffodils – always my favourite & to me they symbolise new beginnings IMG_7909
  3. Madeleine Spencer’s Beauty Full Lives Podcast
  4. Henry’s wine & coffee bar, Skelmanthorpe Huddersfield. A gorgeous gem of a place I’ve just discovered that is right on my doorstep. IMG_7907
  5. I’m a bit late to the party with this one but I’ve just started watching Series 1 of ‘The Crown’ on Netflix and I’m loving it
